Meile Mosaic

When I decided to work full time on my mosaics, I wanted to have a name so my daughter suggested Meile, (pronounced Mylay), Mosaic as that is the Lithuanian word for love and, as I am a quarter Lithuanian, that was perfect!
I have trialled lots of mediums over the years but I prefer to work in vitreous glass because I love the breadth of colour. Having said that, I recently discovered Winkleman's unglazed porcelain, which I also love because the look and feel are very reminiscent of traditional mosaics.
