What is the timetable for the 2023 Forum?

The Forum will be a two day event, taking place over a weekend, with three separate elements

Day 1 (Saturday):

Full day programme, from 10am to 5.30pm (approximate timings).

Starting with the BAMM AGM, lasting about 45 minutes; and followed by 5 main speaker presentations, Q&A sessions, short talks, films and opportunities to network with fellow BAMM members. (See more about the speakers below.)

Tea/coffee and a buffet lunch will be provided.

Saturday evening:

We will be holding a social event between 6.30 and 9pm on Saturday evening in Youlgreave Village Hall.

We have arranged for a mobile pizza van to attend, and your ticket for the evening will include a freshly cooked pizza of your choice, salads and gelato. (Vegetarian and gluten free options will be available.) The pizza oven has been mosaiced by Tracey Cartledge and we are sure that this will add to your enjoyment of the pizzas!

The event will be BYOB (bring your own drink) and we are hoping to include some entertainment in the form of music and a quiz - all offers welcome!

Day 2 (Sunday):

Workshop programme, with a choice of 4 full day workshops, listed below.  Three of our speakers are offering workshops in practical aspects of their own mosaic practice; and the 4th workshop will include the installation of a mosaic onto an external wall in Youlgreave.

Tickets are available separately, for all three elements, so that attendees can pick and choose which parts they would like to attend. Forum and workshop tickets are discounted for BAMM members (non-members are welcome to attend but will have to pay full price). Workshop tickets are available to BAMM members only, for a limited period, after which they will be available to all.

ACCOMMODATION AND TRAVEL to the FORUM

BAMM appreciates that holding the Forum in a small village is quite a departure from the usual city locations and doesn’t want anyone to be put off from attending due to the logistics of where to stay and how to get there.

Why not buddy up?   Use your regional groups to team up for travel and accommodation.   If you don’t know who coordinates your region or BAMM members near you, please contact BAMM Regions Coordinator, Abigail Barker regions.bamm@yahoo.com

Parking will be available for the weekend in the village and for those not traveling by car the nearest train stations are Matlock and Chesterfield.

In the centre of Youlgreave is the newly refurbished Youth Hostel which offers affordable accommodation in shared rooms.   Bookings can be made directly by contacting Colin Trigg the owner of the hostel colintrigg1@hotmail.co.uk .   There are also plenty of other B&B’s and holiday cottages in the village or nearby.

This is a beautiful part of Britain, rich in history, culture and breath-taking landscape perfect for walkers.  If you don’t know the area visit this website for more information about the area https://letsgopeakdistrict.co.uk/listing/youlgreave/

Looking forward to seeing you in October.
