Linda Griffiths

I am a ceramicist and mosaicist and my work often contains some ceramic pieces made especially to blend in with the mosaic. One of the original members of the Treatment Rooms, I also work on some projects with Carrie Reichardt, such as the Calmecac mosaic in Mexico, the Tiki Love Truck and the The Zulu Liberation Taxi. Most often I work with elderly people in communities and care homes to create large scale pieces which are then made into tables or wall hangings for their environment. I provide the designs and teach the participants good mosaic skills to create the work, helping where necessary. Most of the mosaic work is primarily done by the participants. This gives them a new skill, a focus and a distraction and they find it extremely therapeutic, looking forward to every workshop.
