2012 BAMM Miniature Exhibition at the View Tube
Say it with Flowers

Exhibition organiser: Norma Vondee
The View Tube, The Greenway, Marsh Gate Lane, Stratford, LONDON, E15 2PJ
4 - 30 March 2012, 9.00am - 5.00pm daily
Private View: Wednesday 7 March 6.00pm-8.00pm

Latest news from Amanda is that Paul Shaw (Norma's contact at the View Tube) estimates that the exhibition is getting a thousand visitors a day - so it is certainly contributing to BAMM's aim of raising public awareness of modern mosaic art.

Latest news from Norma is that the exhibition will now run to the 10 April with the take-down taking place on 11 April (due to another group cancelling at the View Tube) which means that the exhibition will be open over the Easter weekend when the View Tube is expecting even larger numbers of visitors.

Click through to see the list of entries (confirmed sales have been marked) - 47 pieces. Congratulations to Angela Nash whose image arrived first for the miniature exhibition and to Frances Whittaker who was second.

A poster to advertise the exhibition is now available in the Downloads section - just go to Downloads and click on Exhibition Invitations to download it - it is a PDF and will print with Adobe Document Reader. Please will members put it in their public library, arts centre, local college etc - anywhere where people who would be interested can see it - especially in the London area where people are more likely to be able to travel to the View Tube.

For those members wishing to travel to the View Tube here is a link to the 'Find Us' instructions on their website - in fact, when you get to Pudding Mill Lane station on the Docklands Light Railway all you need to do is follow the signs to the View Tube. http://theviewtube.co.uk/about/find-us.html
Mosaics on poetry March 10-28, 2013 in Helsinki, Finland
This series of 44 mosaics is inspired by a Finnish poet, Solveig von Schoultz (1907-1996). The works have been created during the last two years. The exhibition is also a hommage to Solveig von Schoultz. The poems and Helena and Tuomas Anhava's outstanding translations to Finnish are shown together with the mosaics.

Notes on Mirror Plates

For BAMM exhibitions we sometimes ask artists to fit mirror plates to two-dimensional pieces because using them provides the most secure way of displaying your work. These notes are for anyone who has not used mirror plates before. Click through to the next page to see examples of how to fix mirror plates onto your work.
