The Cheltenham Festival opened their doors recently to a Trojan Horse. Despite the clue in the name the organisers of the Cheltenham Festival and this years associated 'Horse' sculpture fair could not have known what they were letting in. Radical mosaic artist Carrie Reichardt has been infiltrating the growingly popular trend of getting artists to decorate animals (cows, elephants, rhinos etc) only for Carrie this is her way to subvert the usually bland theme and raise genuine and contentious issues. The skull faced Trojan Horse featured images and texts on the ceramic mosaic with graphic examples of mans cruelty to horses both in the horse racing community and the country in general. Chrities in Milan is now set to auction an equally radical two headed elephant by Carrie and hher collaborator Nick Reynolds. find out more here: www.carriereichardt.com
