Education is at the core of BAMM's aims and our activities cover a wide spectrum of areas to promote mosaic art. BAMM's commitment includes both the education of our membership and the general public.

MEMBERS
We aim to help our members by supporting and developing practice as mosaic artists and to strive towards excellence in mosaic art. We do this primarily through our
exhibitions and publications: GROUT our tri-annual magazine looking at current mosaic related news and inspiration; ANDAMENTO our annual journal of in depth essays on the best of mosaic art since 1900.

BAMM also organises our '
British Mosaic Forum' each year for members, an information and inspiration packed day, and organises mosaic related visits.
BAMM presents members work at the
Tile & Stone Show at Excel, London, 2007
BAMM also holds important archive materials from our own activities and the Peter Fischer Library bequest, the extensive collection of books by the late mosaic scholar, open to members of BAMM. For details of the Peter Fischer Collection e-mail Chris at <buckland.books@tiscali.co.uk>

SCHOOLS
BAMM recognises that introducing mosaic art into schools is an exciting way of increasing enthusiasm and understanding of our art. Mosaic making has many unique benefits to offer schools including: many links with curriculum subjects; an exciting combination of art and craft skills; the chance for many to come together to improve our environment.
BAMM and 'Topps Tiles' run an annual competition for mosaic art in Primary Schools.

Many BAMM members undertake mosaic projects in schools around the country.

THE PUBLIC
BAMM's role is also to promote mosaic art to the wider public. We aim to promote both an understanding and appreciation of this unique artform and to spread the joy of participating in an artform that is uniquely open to all levels of ability and involvement.
We do this by organising public exhibitions of mosaic art and promoting mosaic work in schools. We also actively engage in other forums and opportunities for the promotion of mosaic art.
