Statement

Mosaics are a real thrill for me, and a true love.  I have grown in this art and I know I will never stop learning because mosaics are one of the most diversified art forms in the world.

Growing up with a father whom is an artist, I learned so many aspects about art in general.  Until I found mosaics, however, I did not truly know the love people have for making their art.

I make custom pieces, just contact me for pricing.

Thank you for your interest in my work.

Biography

Beverly Thomas Jenkins was born and raised in Texas, and moved to East Tennessee in 1981.  Thomas Jenkins grew up in a family that engulfed her into the world of art at a very early stage.  Her father received his PhD in Art History and still teaches and produces art at the age of 83, art is in her veins!

“My husband and I founded Main Street Café & Catering Co. in 1982 and now run it with our two grown children.  But, in 2007 when I began doing mosaics – I just couldn't stop! I love it so much it’s crazy!”

Thomas Jenkins has partially given up her apron and spatula and is now teaching “Art of Mosaics” at her home studio and the McKinney Center for Art in Historic Jonesborough, TN.  Having had no formal art education, she is a self-taught mosaic artist. She uses all types of medium in her work, such as glass, smalti, beads, mirror, found objects, etc.

She currently has pieces that live in several states across the United States and four different countries around the world. You can see more of her mosaic art, view available workshops and inquire about commissions at www.mosaiclove.net
